Wire Haiku

behind the rosebush
a cat too clean for a stray
hides, waits, walks away

Phantom felines are becoming rather common in my neighbourhood. They pop up in the strangest places, with all the pomp and circumstance of a well-fed housecat but the hungry stares of a stray.
